The Chinese Foreign Ministry has dismissed media reports alleging plans to supply Iran with 400 air defense systems as unfounded.
During a press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning stated that "the reports in question do not correspond to reality and have no basis."
Previously, Reuters cited sources indicating that Iran is expected to receive the first shipment of up to 400 Chinese-made shoulder-fired air defense systems within weeks. The agency added that the deal's value is estimated between 60 and 70 million dollars.
