Overnight drone attacks hit Moscow and Kyiv, with both sides reporting dozens of interceptions and a brief Russian ceasefire announced.

More than 50 drones were intercepted over Moscow over a 15-hour period, according to the city's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, who posted on Telegram that emergency crews are now examining debris on the ground. The total number of downed unmanned aircraft between roughly 11 a.m. Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday exceeded 50, he added.
In a separate Telegram post, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that 95 Ukrainian drones were intercepted across central and southern Russia in just four hours. The announcement came amid a wave of large-scale, mutual drone attacks targeting both Moscow and Kyiv over the past day.
The Russian Defense Ministry also stated it will observe a three-day ceasefire starting from midnight on May 8 through May 10, coinciding with celebrations marking the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. The brief truce is tied to the "Victory Day" commemorations.
