Iran's Fars news agency reported hearing multiple explosions on Khark Island in the Gulf, while media outlets circulated reports of a US attack on an oil tanker.

The agency stated that the sounds of explosions were heard on the island but no signs of smoke or fire were seen in the Gulf.

It added that no official or accurate information has been released yet regarding the cause or source of these sounds.

Iranian media circulated reports of a US attack on an Iranian oil tanker moored at the island.

It stated that the attack occurred around 8:50 AM today, when the US military targeted the oil tanker with four missiles. It added that the tanker is currently being evacuated.

According to local Iranian sources, the targeted vessel was a small tanker. According to circulating reports, no injuries were reported as a result of the attack.

President Donald Trump had previously posted a series of images on the Truth Social platform at the end of July, featuring direct threats to destroy Iran. One image shows aircraft attacking Khark Island and powerful explosions shaking the island.
