Explosions Reported in Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island Area in Southern Iran

The Kuwaiti army reported material damage following attacks on three border centers.

According to the Iranian Fars News Agency, several explosions were heard on Sunday east of Bandar Abbas city and along the coastal area of Qeshm Island.

The agency added that the causes of the explosions remain "unknown" at this time.

Separately, Axios cited a US official stating that the US military launched strikes about an hour earlier targeting missile systems, air defenses, and small boats belonging to the Revolutionary Guard at two locations near the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier on Sunday, Iran announced that it was countering "hostile" targets in the skies over Bandar Abbas.

A series of simultaneous explosions shook several cities and coastal areas in southern Iran early Sunday morning due to US strikes targeting Iranian sites near the Strait of Hormuz.

The early hours of Sunday witnessed a new military escalation, with reports of explosions heard in multiple cities and facilities in southern Iran, coinciding with the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announcement of a new round of strikes against Iranian targets.
