French Investigation into Possible Foreign Involvement in 'Airplane Bomb Threats'
Paris prosecutors have opened an investigation into false bomb threats targeting aircraft over France, examining potential links to foreign powers.

The Paris public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into false bomb threats targeting aircraft flying over French territory, specifically exploring the possibility of foreign powers being behind them.
The prosecutor's office stated on Saturday that the investigation "is underway to identify the senders of emails containing this false information suggesting serious destruction, and their possible links to foreign powers."
Europe witnessed a series of false bomb threats yesterday, following dozens of similar reports this week targeting commercial flights and media institutions in Ireland, which required security forces to take action.
Alerts across Europe led to aircraft rerouting, fighter jet escorts, evacuations, and inspections. An Aer Lingus flight was diverted to Evreux after receiving a bomb threat.
Yesterday, the Prime Minister's office announced the receipt of four new alerts concerning aircraft flying over French territory, noting that explosive ordnance disposal teams conducted "security inspections" on them.
A source reported that three of these aircraft landed at Orly Airport, while the fourth landed in Bordeaux; all landed safely, according to Agence France-Presse.
This comes as European officials have been condemning for months the rise in destabilization operations benefiting Russia and Iran, whether through disinformation campaigns, sabotage acts, cyberattacks, or otherwise.
