Hebrew Media: A Spark of Widespread Popular Movement in Iran to Overthrow the Regime

The Hebrew website "Netziv" revealed in a report published on Wednesday about the increasing popular rejection in various circles inside Iran towards the policies and decisions of the regime and the government, the most important of which is the continued support of armed organizations and proxies in the region such as the "Hezbollah" militia in Lebanon and "Hamas" in Gaza.

The Hebrew report mentioned that popular anger inside Iran is expanding, with the percentage of those demanding structural changes in the regime's structure reaching about 90%.

The report indicated that a profound shift in awareness has begun to take shape in recent months among the Iranian public, amidst an overwhelming desire to overthrow the regime and unprecedented support for establishing diplomatic relations with the United States and the West.

The Hebrew website explained that the Iranian public has come to view the West and the United States broadly as potential partners for the future, and hopes for the collapse of religious rule in favor of a democratic and secular state.

The report pointed out that the Iranian street has clearly turned its back on the official anti-Western ideology in Tehran, based on the results of a poll conducted by the "Gamaan Institute for Research", which read the internal Iranian mood towards local events and the external conflict.

The report says that despite decades of official propaganda and "brainwashing", 39% of participants in the poll inside Iran expressed a positive opinion towards Israel compared to 48% who expressed a negative opinion, confirming that this is an unusually high number for a declared enemy state.

According to the Hebrew website, the "Gamaan Institute for Research", based in the Netherlands, is known among academics and Western figures as the most reliable and advanced source for measuring real public opinion inside Iran.

"Netziv" noted in its report that the institute, as part of its efforts to conduct the poll last November, in which about 30,000 people participated, resorted to means that allow bypassing censorship due to the impossibility of conducting free telephone or field polls in Iran because of citizens' fear of the regime and "Hezbollah", which allows complete anonymity and encourages providing honest answers.

The poll reviewed the Iranian public's position towards the military campaign waged by Israel and Iran against what is known as the "Axis of Resistance", where 58% of Iranians opposed the continued economic and military support provided by the regime to armed organizations in the region, foremost among them "Hezbollah" in Lebanon and "Hamas" in Gaza.

About 44% of poll participants blamed the Iranian regime for the outbreak of the conflict with the United States, while 33% blamed Israel, and 16% considered both sides equally responsible.

According to what "Netziv" reported, an "overwhelming" majority of 63% of those polled confirmed that the military conflict is "the war of the Iranian regime, not the war of the Iranian people".

58% of those polled stated that the regime failed to protect civilians from attacks, and a similar percentage (58%) gave a negative evaluation of the performance of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, before his assassination.

The most common feeling expressed by poll participants during the fighting was "anger towards the Iranian regime" at 42%.

The poll showed that following the military clashes, the percentage of Iranians supporting the complete overthrow of the current Iranian regime increased by an additional 6 percentage points compared to the previous year, while the illusion of "structural reform" within the regime diminished. Overall, between 60% and 80% of citizens support a complete change of the regime, while an overwhelming majority of 89% of those polled expressed support for establishing a democratic political system in Iran.

According to the poll, about 26% of participants prefer a republican system separate from religion, while the institute's data indicates a remarkable and unprecedented increase in support for the return of monarchy (centered on the figure of Reza Pahlavi, son of the deposed Shah), as a stable alternative to the system of the Supreme Leader, while about 43% showed openness to interim rule by a "strong and unifying leader" to lead the transitional phase after the fall of the regime.

The Hebrew report focused on Iranian popular sympathy with the United States, citing that among all the countries included in the poll, the United States received the highest percentage of sympathy at 53% compared to only 37% who expressed a negative attitude towards it, noting that this completely contradicts the government's slogans of "Death to America".

The website, quoting the "Gamaan" poll, indicated that a large majority of 62% of Iranians support direct diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States to resolve crises.

The Hebrew website concluded its report by noting that 69% of Iranians want to stop official calls for the elimination of Israel, which it said reflects an unprecedented shift in public mood inside Iran that sharply contradicts the regime's official narrative.
