Houthi forces targeted the Third Brigade camp of “Al-Dhira Al-Wataniya” in Al-‘Abr, Hadramaut, near the Saudi border, hours after launching multiple attacks across Taiz governorate, including on civilian sites and military positions.
Houthi militia forces carried out a drone strike on Thursday against a government military camp in Hadramaut governorate, eastern Yemen, located close to the Saudi border. The attack marks a renewed assault on the site approximately one week after a prior similar strike that resulted in casualties.
Military sources told Erma News that Houthi operatives deployed several suicide drones against the camp of the Third Brigade—part of the “Al-Dhira Al-Wataniya” (National Shield) forces—in Al-‘Abr area, near the Saudi-Yemeni border. As of the time of reporting, no fatalities had been confirmed from the latest strike.
The Hadramaut strike followed within hours of a series of Houthi offensives in Taiz governorate. Government forces there repelled multiple assaults launched by the militia against both civilian areas and official military installations, amid intense frontline combat across several sectors of the province.
In Mawza district, western Taiz, Houthi units fired mortar rounds at the “Al-Jeel Al-Jadeed” (New Generation) school in Al-Maqsub village, part of Al-‘Atiqah area. The shelling caused material damage to the building but produced no reported human casualties, according to military sources. Hours later, the same militia targeted a mosque in the same locality, with no information provided on casualties.
On the northeastern front of Taiz city, Houthi fighters engaged government positions in the Al-Wakil and Al-Mawshaki highlands using medium weapons and mortars. No losses were recorded among government troops during this engagement. In response, government forces shelled Houthi firing positions at the Sofitel and International Hospital sites, successfully silencing them, per the sources.
Fighting erupted along the Heifan front, southeast of Taiz city, involving multiple locations: ‘Ayrin, Al-Mafalis, Tubba’ Sa‘id Taha, Al-‘Abliyah, and Al-Manthirah. Both sides employed light, medium, and heavy weaponry throughout the exchanges.
Military sources confirmed that government troops successfully defended against a Houthi offensive in this sector and forced the militia to withdraw. They stated the operation inflicted losses on Houthi ranks.
