Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, announced that the Iranian negotiating delegation will head to Switzerland today as part of efforts to monitor the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between Tehran and Washington.

Baqaei, as reported by the Iranian news agency Fars, stated that the Iranian team will leave for Switzerland within minutes. He added that during the visit, the negotiating team will demand that the "other party" fulfill its commitments under the memorandum and will request details from the United States on how it plans to execute these obligations.

This announcement came hours after the ministry denied reports that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi would travel to Switzerland today or tomorrow, clarifying that he is hosting the Pakistani Interior Minister in the country.

The Iranian diplomatic move follows days after Iran and the United States remotely signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the military conflict that began on February 28. The agreement includes lifting the naval blockade on Iranian ports and restoring navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. It also sets a 60-day timeline for negotiations concerning Iran's nuclear program.

Earlier, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance declared that the United States has effectively lifted its blockade on Iranian ports. He confirmed that Tehran has begun permitting commercial vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, noting that over 12 million barrels of oil have already transited the strait since the memorandum was signed.
