Iranian Official Rules Out Immediate Deal with Trump Administration
An Iranian official dismissed the possibility of reaching an agreement with the Trump administration, attributing responsibility for regional tensions to the U.S. president.

An Iranian official stated on Monday that the chances of reaching an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump's administration are unlikely at present, placing responsibility on Trump for complicating relations with Israel.
In an interview with the Iranian "Breaking News" agency, the official explained that the escalation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Iran's retaliatory responses have contributed to heightened regional tensions.
The official warned that any new Israeli attack on Beirut in the coming days would be met with an immediate missile response targeting Israeli sites across various locations.
He mentioned that a potential agreement with Washington has been under discussion for approximately 20 days but criticized Trump's hesitation to proceed with announcing the deal. This reluctance is attributed to pressures from pro-Israel lobby groups and Trump's reliance on the effectiveness of what he described as the "maritime blockade plan."
The official identified two main points of disagreement: the ongoing Israeli military actions against Lebanon and the expansion of control over areas in southern Lebanon, as well as the Trump administration's refusal to release frozen Iranian assets and funds. Tehran demands access to these funds for reconstruction efforts.
Iran holds the United States "directly responsible" for Israeli attacks on Lebanon, according to the official's remarks.
