Iran’s Revolutionary Guard published video showing its response to US naval attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, claiming significant enemy losses.
Video footage released by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shows its forces engaging American warships in the Strait of Hormuz, with the Guard claiming it inflicted “notable losses” and that the three attacking enemy vessels fled. The IRGC Navy stated it responded firmly to what it called a ceasefire violation and aggression by the “terrorist” US military.
In a statement issued early Friday, the IRGC Navy said intelligence indicated the US enemy suffered significant damage, and that the three enemy ships quickly escaped the Strait of Hormuz area. The statement detailed that the confrontation began after a ceasefire breach and aggression by the US military against an Iranian oil tanker near the port of Jask, followed by the approach of US destroyers toward the strait.
The IRGC Navy said it opened fire on the enemy destroyers in a “highly intensive and precise joint operation.” The force confirmed the operation employed a variety of ballistic missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, and explosive-laden attack drones.
The IRGC Navy also published footage of its response to the US attacks, released after conditions returned to normal following tensions and clashes on Iranian islands and coastal cities. The US military had launched strikes that President Donald Trump described as “retaliatory” against Iranian targets, calling them merely a “light slap.”
A US military statement said CENTCOM “eliminated incoming threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking US forces, including missile and drone launch sites, command and control centers, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance centers.” The statement added that Iran launched several missiles, drones, and small boats as three US Navy destroyers transited the Strait of Hormuz.
