Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy announced the seizure of a US unmanned spy submarine in the Strait of Hormuz, stating it was captured during a complex operation involving electronic warfare.
The naval forces of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced their seizure of an American unmanned spy submarine in the Strait of Hormuz.
A statement from the IRGC Navy noted that a "complex operation" was carried out relying on intelligence monitoring and electronic warfare, resulting in the control of the advanced unmanned submarine.
The statement indicated that this submarine belongs to the class of smart underwater vehicles known as "Remus 600," and that the naval force took control of it, adding that it is now with specialists to extract the data and information stored within it.
In this context, the naval force emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and confirmed firm and continuous handling of what it described as "dangerous movements or transit through unauthorized routes in the strait."
