Israeli Airstrikes Target Around 20 Sites in Iran, Including Mahshahr Petrochemical Complex
Israel's air force struck approximately 20 targets in Iran, focusing on military sites following Iranian ballistic missile attacks on Israel.

On Monday, Israeli media disclosed details regarding the initial wave of airstrikes carried out by the Israeli Air Force against approximately 20 targets within Iran.
Channel 12 reported that one of the primary targets was the petrochemical complex located in Mahshahr, in southwestern Iran, which the Israeli military confirmed was hit during the strikes.
Additionally, CNN cited Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yehiel Leiter, stating that the attacks included Iranian ground-to-ground missile launch sites as well as military infrastructure unrelated to the energy sector.
An Israeli military spokesperson communicated via the X platform that the raids were conducted under the direction of the Military Intelligence Directorate, targeting "military objectives affiliated with the Iranian terrorist regime" in western and central Iran.
The operation was a direct response to ballistic missile attacks launched by Iran toward Israel on Sunday night.
The Israeli military emphasized that the strikes focused strictly on military targets and did not directly hit civilian facilities or the energy sector, despite reports of the petrochemical complex in Mahshahr being bombed, which is considered a strategic industrial site.
A statement from the Israeli army confirmed that the operation was executed successfully according to the planned objectives, with ongoing security assessments of the situation.
This series of strikes is part of an escalating exchange between the two sides, following Iran's ballistic missile launches targeting Israel. Iran has yet to release an official statement detailing the extent of damage or casualties resulting from the Israeli attacks.
