The Istanbul Governor’s Office confirmed that two Turkish-flagged commercial vessels collided off Istanbul’s coast in the Sea of Marmara on Wednesday, with rescue assets deployed and no damage reported on one vessel; contact was lost with the crew of ten aboard the other.

Coast Guard vessels and helicopters were dispatched to the incident site to conduct search and rescue operations.
No damage was observed on one of the vessels involved in the collision.
Authorities reported an inability to establish communication with the crew of the second vessel, which consists of ten individuals.
Separately, Iran announced the rescue of 23 sailors following a collision between two vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
