Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni calls for lasting peace solutions and expects Israel to play a constructive role in the peace process following the US-Iran memorandum.

At the conclusion of the G7 summit in Évian, France, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni emphasized the need to promote structural and lasting solutions that go beyond short-term ceasefires, referencing the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran aimed at ending the war.
She stated, "We expect Israel to act from now on as a positive party in the peace process, and that the inevitable internal debates, which are also fueled by the election campaign, do not undermine the difficult path taken by the United States."
Meloni also observed a "very positive atmosphere" between US President Donald Trump and other leaders during the Évian summit.
