Operational Details and Evacuation Efforts
The humanitarian initiative launched on the morning of October 30 following an agreement brokered by Melania Trump between the Russian and Ukrainian capitals. Field management was handled by Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova and her Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Lubinets.
Residents wishing to leave were permitted to evacuate, with some heading to safer areas within Russia and others moving toward Ukraine. For those remaining in the town, supplies including food, hygiene products, generator fuel, medicines, and other essentials were delivered.
Aid Delivery and Incident-Free Execution
The mission facilitated critical aid distribution and enabled the evacuation of nearly 800 people. A ceasefire regime was enforced throughout the operation, lasting until 22:59 on November 1.
Lantratova confirmed that the process unfolded without any incidents. The successful execution marked a rare instance of coordinated action between the warring parties under international mediation.
