Merz and Reichel arrive in Kyiv for unannounced visit

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Economy Minister Katherina Reiche arrived in Kyiv on Sunday for an undisclosed visit, accompanied by an economic delegation.

Recent German diplomatic trips

This trip follows an earlier unannounced visit to Ukraine by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul during the second half of August. In May, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius traveled to Ukraine to discuss weapons production issues.

Drone cooperation details

Pistorius subsequently stated that Germany and Ukraine would collaborate on developing and producing drones with a range of up to 1,500 kilometers.
