Oleksandrivka Drone Strike Kills 6 in Russia’s Largest Moscow Attack in Two Years

Ukraine deployed hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles in coordinated strikes across several Russian regions, with a concentrated wave targeting Moscow and surrounding areas. The attacks resulted in at least six fatalities.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 822 drones overnight. Of those, 600 were directed specifically at Moscow, according to the ministry’s statement.
TASS, the Russian state news agency, described the Ukrainian drone operation against Moscow as the most extensive such incident recorded in the past two years.
Yuri Slyusar, governor of Russia’s southwestern Rostov region, confirmed five deaths there following drone strikes on three separate settlements.
An 83-year-old man died after a Ukrainian drone struck a residential building in the Moscow region.
