Space launch creates jellyfish-shaped cloud over Komi
A glowing cloud resembling a jellyfish appeared in the sky over Russia's Komi Republic following a Soyuz-2.1b rocket launch from Plesetsk.
The sky above the Russian Komi Republic was illuminated by a massive cloud formation that visually resembled a jellyfish, an event occurring after the launch of the "Soyuz-2.1b" space rocket from the Plesetsk base located in the northwest of the country.
Jellyfish-like phenomenon observed
Residents in the region reported seeing a giant luminous cloud with a long tail, which took on the appearance of a "celestial jellyfish." This atmospheric display followed the deployment of the carrier rocket from the Plesetsk space facility.
Images and videos of the cloud circulated widely among inhabitants of Syktyvkar, the republic's capital, via social media networks. The phenomenon drew significant public attention due to its striking visibility against the night sky.
Military satellite reaches orbit
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the launch operation from the Plesetsk space base, situated in Arkhangelsk Oblast in northern Russia, was completed successfully. The ministry stated that the military satellite had reached its designated orbital path.
This event marks the most recent mission for the "Soyuz-2.1b" rocket type since September 18 of last year, when it carried another military satellite into space.
