Pakistan Thwarts Afghan Taliban Cross-Border Attack in Gholistan Sector

Pakistani security sources reported on Friday that national forces had thwarted an attempted cross-border offensive by the Afghan Taliban in the Gholistan sector along the Pakistan–Afghanistan frontier. Several Taliban fighters were killed during the incident.

According to those sources, speaking to Reuters, intermittent exchanges of gunfire between Pakistani security forces and the Afghan Taliban continue in the area. Border security units remain on high alert throughout the region.
