Pakistani Airstrikes Kill 22 and Destroy Weapons Depots in Afghanistan
Pakistan announced airstrikes against alleged terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan, killing 22 people. Afghan officials reported casualties including women and children in Helmand and Kunar provinces.
The Pakistani government announced today, Thursday, the execution of airstrikes against what it described as "hideouts of terrorist organizations" in Afghanistan, indicating that 22 people were killed in those strikes.
An Afghan official said earlier today, Thursday, that Pakistani
airstrikes on his country killed 4 people and injured 6 others.
Maulvi Sher Muhammad Wahdat, head of the Information and Culture Department in Helmand province, told Reuters: "The Pakistani military regime launched airstrikes on two houses in the Jarmasir district of Helmand province."
Wahdat added: "According to initial figures, 4 people have been killed and 6 others injured so far.
Most of the dead and wounded are women and children."
At the same time, an Afghan government source stated that 9 people were killed and 7 injured in Pakistani strikes targeting Kunar and Helmand provinces.
