Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the arbitration courts in London and Stockholm of issuing "illegal" rulings against Russian companies. He made these remarks during a meeting with Sergey Katyrin, head of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, addressing the operations of foreign arbitration bodies.

Putin stated that these foreign arbitration institutions make decisions that lack legal legitimacy. In response, Katyrin described the rulings by these two bodies as politically motivated and aimed at targeting Russian companies.

Katyrin further highlighted that Russian arbitration bodies have significantly surpassed their London and Stockholm counterparts in terms of the number of cases handled. He noted that over 350 cases have been resolved so far through branches established across various Russian regions, with ongoing expansion in this area.

According to data from the Stockholm International Arbitration Court, Russian participants—excluding those from Sweden—were the most represented among parties involved in cases the court reviewed during 2024.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that President Putin would hold a meeting with Sergey Katyrin, the head of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
