Qalibaf Criticizes US Military Reinforcements Amid Claims to End War

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, head of Iran's negotiation team and parliament, stated that the United States continues to send new military equipment and reinforcements to the region while simultaneously declaring efforts to halt the war, describing these actions as contradictory to American statements.

In a tweet on the platform "X," Qalibaf said, "The Americans continue to bring new military equipment to the region, while claiming at the same time that they seek to stop the war," adding, "They thought our intelligence level was as modest as theirs."

He further noted that Iran has "reached a stage of complete mastery in understanding these American tactics and has taken the necessary preparations to confront them," emphasizing that "actions must confirm claims rather than contradict them," referring to the need for field movements to align with political declarations.

Qalibaf's remarks come amid a rapid military escalation between the United States and Iran in the region, coinciding with Washington's ongoing efforts to bolster its military presence in the Middle East, including deploying additional troops, equipment, and warships.

Tehran asserts that these US military movements contradict any American discourse about ending the war or calming tensions, viewing the continued reinforcements as preparations to sustain operations rather than steps toward termination.

Conversely, Washington maintains that its military actions aim to protect its forces and interests in the region and to strengthen its deterrence capabilities, while political communications and diplomatic efforts continue to contain the escalation and prevent a wider confrontation.
