Russian Ministry Reports 12 Dead in Ukrainian Drone Strike on Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan

Russian officials confirmed 12 deaths following a Ukrainian drone strike on the city of Nizhnekamsk in the Republic of Tatarstan, according to a Reuters report.

In an official statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said air defense units intercepted and destroyed 153 Ukrainian drones overnight Sunday across 13 Russian regions: Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula.

The ministry added that interception operations also took place in Moscow Oblast, the Republic of Crimea, the Republic of Tatarstan, and Krasnodar Krai — as well as over the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

Ukrainian Forces Target Civilian Infrastructure

According to RT (Russia Today), the Ukrainian Armed Forces conduct daily strikes against residential neighborhoods, critical civilian infrastructure, industrial facilities, and energy installations in Russia’s border regions and deeper within its territory, using drones and missiles.

Russian Retaliatory Strikes on Ukrainian Military Sites

In response, Russian forces carried out strikes exclusively against Ukrainian military facilities and defense industry enterprises, the ministry stated, using precision-guided weapons launched from air, sea, and land platforms — including drones.

Russian authorities also announced the destruction of a gas field and electricity infrastructure in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine.
