The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation reported three fatalities and 36 injuries following attacks on Abha and King Khalid international airports on October 6 and 7, 2026.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed that Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport were targeted by two separate attacks on their facilities during Tuesday and Wednesday, corresponding to October 6 and 7, 2026. Emergency teams and relevant authorities immediately responded to the incidents in accordance with established procedures and plans.
The direct assault on Abha International Airport resulted in the deaths of two residents, one holding Moroccan nationality and the other Algerian. The attack also caused 28 injuries among citizens and two residents from Bangladesh and the Philippines. Medical reports indicated that the severity of these injuries ranged from minor to serious.
The attack targeting King Khalid International Airport led to the death of one resident of Sudanese nationality. Eight additional individuals sustained injuries in this incident, including five citizens, two residents of Egyptian nationality, and one resident of Pakistani nationality. Similar to the Abha incident, the injuries varied in severity from minor to serious.
All injured persons were immediately transported to hospitals to receive necessary medical care. Material damage was recorded as a result of both attacks. The authority stated it is working in continuous coordination and integration with relevant security agencies to assess the damages.
Authorities are taking all required measures to ensure the safety of travelers and workers while maintaining the security and integrity of the civil aviation system within the Kingdom.
