A former Shin Bet official claims Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu detailed a precise scenario of the Hamas attack on October 7 during a meeting six years prior, contradicting his assertions that he received no warnings.

A senior Israeli security official dropped a shocking bombshell by claiming that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu outlined what he described as the "precise scenario" for the "Hamas" attack on October 7, during a meeting held six years before the attack occurred.
Former "Shin Bet" official Ilan Segiv stated during an interview with "Reshet Bet," affiliated with the Broadcasting Authority, that Netanyahu's claims of not receiving warnings before the October 2023 attack are "completely false."
He said: "We must distinguish between the intelligence picture and the intelligence warning. The intelligence picture already existed, and no one should tell us that we were unaware of Hamas's desire to launch an attack or that we did not realize their capabilities."
He added: "During that meeting - which took place in April 2017, about six years before the attack - Netanyahu spoke about commando forces, drones, control of towns, and the kidnapping of civilians and soldiers."
He continued saying: "All these elements were on the table. There is a video clip on YouTube that anyone can watch," according to him.
These statements come just one day after Avi Gil, Netanyahu's former military secretary, revealed that the head of the Prime Minister's Office allegedly tried to change the official record of Netanyahu's schedule, according to Hebrew channel "i24news."
Gil had reviewed the hours preceding the attack, claiming that intelligence reports were circulated through the security establishment's systems during the night and reached computers in the offices of the Head of Research Division and the Military Intelligence Directorate.
Segiv accused the Prime Minister of receiving intelligence information from the "Shin Bet" agency, adding that his claim that he "did not know or hear anything" is a lie. He said during the interview: "Seriously, there are limits to this."
Segiv noted that Netanyahu repeatedly rejected over the years the agency's recommendations to assassinate senior officials in the "Hamas" movement. He recalled recommending the assassination of Hamas military commander Ahmed al-Jabari, who was listed on the "Shin Bet" special assassination target list.
He went on saying: "We presented the Prime Minister with a plan to assassinate al-Jabari after observing his adherence to a fixed daily routine. It was a highly complex operation requiring intricate technological preparations, and we conducted several simulations in northern Israel to ensure its success."
Regarding Netanyahu's stance, he said: "We reached a stage where we realized we could assassinate al-Jabari, and naturally, the matter was presented to the Prime Minister; his response - as happened in other cases - was: Maintain readiness."
Segiv clarified that "readiness for such operations does not mean placing operational orders in a drawer and waiting for someone to order their execution. It means keeping entire work teams active and effective; starting from the technological department and explosives experts, down to countless other details."
He concluded saying: "Nevertheless, every time we returned to say we are ready, we received the same response: Maintain readiness."
