South Africa Elections: ANC Gets 30.76% of the Votes
Official results announced today show the African National Congress secured 30.76% of the vote in South Africa's municipal elections, while its closest rival, the Democratic Alliance, received 24.64%.

Official results announced today showed that the African National Congress (ANC) in South Africa received 30.76% of the votes in the municipal elections, while its closest rival, the Democratic Alliance, received 24.64% of the votes.
The ANC had won 45.59% of the votes in the elections held in 2021.
This year's election results represent another painful setback for the ANC, whose share of the vote has steadily declined in municipal elections over the past fifteen years, largely due to failures in basic services such as water and electricity.
