The Syrian Ministry of Finance has issued precautionary asset freezes on several former officials and figures associated with the previous Assad regime.

The Syrian Ministry of Finance has enacted precautionary measures to freeze both movable and immovable assets belonging to a number of former officials and individuals connected to the regime of former President Bashar al-Assad.
The list of those subjected to asset freezes includes former Syrian Football Federation President Mohammad Fadi al-Dabbas, former People's Council member Nawaf al-Bashir, businessman Farhan al-Marsoumi, Madloul al-Aziz, Taysir Khalid, and Tar.
Additionally, the decision encompasses former Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi, along with his wife and children. The order also imposes travel bans on these individuals, following a request from the Commission for Combating Illicit Gains.
Observers suggest that the measure targets figures linked to Iranian influence networks in Syria, aiming to dismantle the financial and economic structures that emerged from these connections and to restore economic control to the Syrian government.
