Trump Announces Peace Deal with Iran and Reopens Strait of Hormuz
US President Donald Trump declared a peace agreement with Iran, lifting the naval blockade on Iranian ports and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

In the early hours of Monday, US President Donald Trump announced that a peace agreement had been reached with Iran, which includes lifting the naval blockade on Iranian ports and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump posted on his platform "Truth Social": "The agreement with Iran is now complete.. Congratulations to everyone!".
He added, "Accordingly, I authorize the free and immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz for navigation, and at the same time, I authorize the immediate lifting of the naval blockade imposed by the United States.. Ships of the world, start your engines.. Let the oil flow!".
Later, Trump wrote in another post: "This great deal will bring peace and security to the entire region".
He continued, "Many presidents have tried to achieve peace with Iran and all failed before me, and for the first time, regional leaders have found a president who can help them achieve real peace".
Trump further stated, "With the opening of the strait upon signing the agreement on Friday, and for the purpose of mine clearance, oil will flow again in both directions benefiting the region and the world!".
This confirmation from Trump came shortly after Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Sunday evening that a peace agreement had been reached between the United States and Iran, a step expected to mark a significant shift in the course of regional and international tensions following a prolonged period of political and military escalation between the two sides.
The Prime Minister confirmed that Washington and Tehran agreed to an immediate and permanent ceasefire on all fronts, noting that this commitment also covers arenas related to the regional influence of both parties, including Lebanon, indicating an effort to contain any extensions of the conflict beyond the borders of the two countries.
Earlier, President Trump stated that he would electronically sign the agreement with Iran or have his deputy, J.D. Vance, do so, emphasizing that Washington would receive Iranian enriched uranium possibly within the next month or two, according to statements to The Wall Street Journal.
Meanwhile, Trump's deputy told Fox News that the agreement with Iran means it will never possess nuclear weapons, considering that if Iran complies with the deal, the Middle East would become "more attractive for investment".
Vance added, "We hope the agreement with Tehran marks the beginning of a new era with the Iranians," pointing out that Iran assured Washington it would not respond to Israel's bombing of the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Vance confirmed his intention to attend the signing ceremony of the agreement with Iran.
Situation in Lebanon
Earlier on Sunday, Trump urged all parties in the region to calm tensions to ensure the success of the negotiations, according to a post on his platform Truth Social.
He stated, "Israel must not launch any further attacks anywhere in Lebanon, and no other party, including Hezbollah, should launch attacks against Israel.. This could be the beginning of long-lasting peace, so let us preserve it".
Trump explained that the Israeli attack on Beirut that morning could have been avoided, especially on a "special day" when the agreement with Iran was imminent.
He added, "Israel has the right to defend itself against threats, but the attack it responded to was very limited and insignificant, causing no injuries or deaths, and should not obstruct this important process".
Fox News quoted the US President as saying he would request Iran not to retaliate against Israel for its bombing of the southern suburbs of Beirut.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Israeli officials were surprised by Trump's statements calling on Tel Aviv to halt its attacks in Lebanon.
The newspaper also noted that a Qatari delegation traveled to Tehran on Sunday hoping to finalize the agreement between Iran and the United States.
