US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Newsmax channel, published early Friday morning, that he is holding talks with Russia and China regarding nuclear disarmament.

He clarified that his administration is conducting discussions with Russia and China on nuclear disarmament, expressing hope that the three countries will be able to reduce their nuclear arsenals.

Regarding this, Trump said: "I would like to achieve nuclear disarmament, if possible. And we are actually having talks on this matter with both Russia and China."

Trump did not specify a timeline for those negotiations, nor did he announce any agreement reached with either of the two countries on this issue, according to the network.

Trump stated that the United States possesses the largest nuclear arsenal in the world, followed by Russia and then China, expecting Beijing to catch up within 5 or 6 years.

In May, Trump revealed that he had discussed the issue of nuclear disarmament with Chinese President Xi Jinping, noting the necessity of Russia's participation in efforts aimed at reducing nuclear weapons.
