President Trump accused NATO members of failing to support the US in its conflict with Iran during a White House press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

President Donald Trump stated that NATO countries "let down" the United States in its war against Iran during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House.
Trump emphasized that the US did not receive any support from Europe regarding the conflict with Iran. He added that it would have been appreciated if the allies had expressed willingness to assist, even if their help was not ultimately needed, but they did not.
Trump expressed disappointment with Italy, Britain, Germany, France, and Spain, noting, "It would have been nice if they had offered assistance in our war with Iran." Nevertheless, he asserted that the US achieved victory over Iran, stating, "We did not need any help in our war and crushed Iran in the first week."
In contrast, Secretary General Rutte highlighted that approximately 5,000 American aircraft operated from European bases during the weeks of conflict. He described Trump's actions regarding Iran as "important because Iran was close to acquiring nuclear capabilities," adding that Iran was "exporting terrorism and chaos" and could have posed a threat to both the region and the world.
