Trump: Any Iranian move in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a strong strike

President Donald Trump said today, Wednesday, that the United States fully controls the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that Iran may take action there but would receive a strong strike.

He added that Tehran would not become the bully in the Middle East.

Trump stressed that he does not trust Iran and that American control over the strait is complete.

He revealed he traveled from Turkey on a military aircraft instead of the presidential plane, following instructions from the Secret Service, explaining he was transferred between planes inside a food truck in case of Iranian assassination threats.

He said: "I'm just doing what they want me to do… I follow the Secret Service and military directives. They wanted me to take a different flight, a different plane, at the same level of safety, so I do what they say." He added: "I think there's some threat out there… I receive a lot of threats."

Trump had arrived in Turkey aboard a new plane gifted to him by Qatar, which was intended to serve as the U.S. presidential aircraft, Air Force One.

On Tuesday evening, he said the plane he was traveling on was more vulnerable to attack, adding that he faces threats unknown to the public.

He said: "The plane I was on was more vulnerable to danger… because, as I believe, it's the one they'd likely target."

According to a U.S. official, Trump secretly left Turkey last month aboard a substitute military aircraft after being transported to it concealed inside a supply truck, in a carefully orchestrated deception prompted by a credible Iranian threat.
