US President Donald Trump indicated on Thursday that he might return to intensively bombing Iran after the midterm elections in November. He stated, "I may eradicate Tehran, and this is possible."

The US President added in remarks to Time magazine that "launching new attacks on Iran is possible," one day after stating that the war would end soon "one way or another."

The US President renewed his rejection of the latest Iranian proposal for a ceasefire, saying, "What I rejected a year ago, I will not agree to today."

Trump confirmed that the United States' position in negotiations with Iran is "very good," noting in contrast that it is Tehran that wants to reach an agreement.

He stressed that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons "because they are crazy and cannot be allowed to do so," according to his expression.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he affirmed that Washington has "closed the vital passage to Iran," adding, "We control it now."

Trump acknowledged a "slight shortage" in stocks of some munitions, following multiple media and intelligence reports. He said, "We have slightly less stock in some types of munitions," while noting that Washington is significantly boosting its reserves and will supply its allies with munitions.

He considered reports regarding US munition shortages to be "mostly fake news," adding, "We have plenty of weapons and our situation is excellent."

Earlier on Thursday, he hinted that the war "will end soon" despite the overwhelming signs of escalation in recent times and the continuous threats from both sides.
