US President Donald Trump threatened early Wednesday to target oil facilities in Iran, stating that this could occur during a later phase of the war.
Trump said, during an interview with Fox News, that he might target Iran's oil in a later phase if forced to do so.
Trump added that he ordered not to strike Iran's oil facilities at this time to avoid the impact of that step on the global economy.
Trump, on Tuesday, reimposed the naval blockade on all Iranian ports, and threatened to strike power generation plants and bridges next week.
The US President made that step conditional on Iran not yielding and returning to negotiations, affirming that Washington urged Tehran to negotiate again.
Trump revealed, during the interview, that representatives of the United States held discussions with the Iranian side on Tuesday, without providing details of those talks.
