Turkey Detains 110 Suspects Over Links to ISIS
Turkish anti-terror police arrested 110 individuals suspected of supporting ISIS in a major operation mostly conducted in Istanbul, seizing weapons and digital materials. This follows a recent wave of arrests and violent incidents linked to the group.

Turkish counter-terrorism forces detained 110 suspects on Tuesday amid allegations of involvement in activities backing the Islamic State group. The operation was primarily carried out in Istanbul, according to the official Anadolu news agency.
The arrests came as part of a coordinated effort with Istanbul’s public prosecutor’s office. Authorities accused the suspects of organizing illegal association classes, indoctrinating young children with ISIS ideology, raising funds for the group, and attempting to recruit new members.
Police conducted simultaneous raids across three provinces, with the majority concentrated in Istanbul. During these actions, officers confiscated firearms, documents, and digital devices linked to the suspects.
Recent Crackdowns and Violence
Last week, Turkish police apprehended 324 individuals suspected of ISIS affiliations in raids spanning 47 provinces, the interior ministry reported.
On April 7, a gunman was killed and two others wounded in a shootout outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul. Interior Minister Mustafa Şevket Çelik described one of the attackers as connected to a "religiously exploited organization," while Turkish media identified the assailants as ISIS members.
In late December, ISIS militants opened fire on police in Yalova, a town in northwest Turkey, resulting in three officers killed and nine wounded.
