UK: 20-Year Prison Sentence for Man Convicted of Plotting Attack on Israeli Embassy in London
A British court has sentenced an Arab national to a minimum of 20 years in prison for planning a terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in London, citing Israel's operations in Gaza as his motive.

The British judiciary has decided to set a prison sentence of no less than 20 years for a person of Arab nationality who was convicted of planning a terrorist act targeting the Israeli embassy.
The defendant had attempted to enter the Israeli embassy in London armed with two knives and carrying a "martyrdom letter" in April 2025 before being stopped by armed police officers guarding the site.
Prosecutors stated that the defendant intended to attack the embassy in retaliation for Israel's operations in the Gaza Strip. Evidence presented during the trial showed that he had searched for the embassy's location, was carrying two knives, and possessed a letter indicating his intention to "become a martyr."
A jury at the Old Bailey court in London convicted him last May of planning a terrorist act and possessing two sharp instruments.
The duration of his sentence was determined today as imprisonment for a period of no less than 20 years.
