The US Central Command announced the death of a senior ISIS leader, Ali Hussein Al-Alawi, in an airstrike in northwest Syria on June 19.
The United States Central Command reported on Wednesday that the US military conducted an airstrike in northwest Syria last week, resulting in the death of a senior leader of the Islamic State organization.
According to a statement published by the Central Command on the social media platform X, the targeted individual was identified as Ali Hussein Al-Alawi.
The airstrike took place on June 19 and successfully killed Ali Hussein Al-Alawi, who was described as one of the top commanders within the group.
The Central Command indicated that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to weaken terrorist organizations' capabilities and to prevent them from carrying out attacks against American citizens abroad or on US soil.
