White House bars CNN from Trump's Air Force One travel

The White House announced on Saturday that it had barred CNN from joining President Donald Trump aboard Air Force One. This move represents the most recent step taken by the Trump administration regarding news organizations.

Recent restrictions on media access

The decision followed shortly after reporters from three news outlets returned to the executive complex. These journalists represent CNN, MS Now, and Politico. The Trump administration had previously denied these entities access to White House grounds last week.

Upon their return, the correspondents carried television cameras, laptops, and microphones. A judge issued a temporary order early Thursday morning that reversed the ban on entering the premises. However, this ruling did not directly address the joint press pool covering presidential activities.

Air Force One exclusion details

Although the three networks’ reporters were permitted back into the White House, they continued to abstain from participating in the joint coverage of Trump’s schedule. The legal text specified that the temporary injunction applied only to the White House grounds. It contained no direct reference to Air Force One operations.
