Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to participate in the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. The summit is set to open tomorrow, Monday, under the patronage of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.

Delegation composition and high-level attendance

The Chinese delegation accompanying Xi includes his wife, Peng Liyuan; Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; and Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.

SCO membership and participating leaders

The SCO currently comprises Belarus, China, India, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan. Confirmed attendees at the summit include Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif — alongside Xi Jinping and Japarov.
