A Yemeni army spokesperson dismissed Houthi social media posts claiming battlefield gains in Marib, stating the province is secure and celebrating the September 26 revolution.
The official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Majed Al-Nuzaili, rejected assertions circulating on social media accounts linked to the Houthi militia regarding alleged military successes in Marib Governorate. He confirmed that the region remains safe and is currently hosting celebrations marking the anniversary of the September 26 Revolution.
To substantiate his denial, Al-Nuzaili released a video recorded from within Marib. In the footage, he stated: "Now, Marib, history and civilization, is safe, reassuring, and rejoicing in the celebrations of the September 26 Revolution."
The military spokesman characterized the Houthi narratives as mere "claims." He argued that these statements are designed to distract public attention and disrupt the festivities observed by Yemenis commemorating the revolutionary anniversary.
These remarks coincide with continued confrontations along the fronts in Marib. The Yemeni Armed Forces had recently announced that they successfully repelled Houthi attacks and infiltration attempts within the governorate.
