Zaporizhzhia Plant Management Reports Foiled Ukrainian Drone Attack

The management of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant announced on Thursday that it had thwarted a Ukrainian drone attack aimed at the dry storage facility for spent nuclear fuel.

The administration stated that the objective of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack was the plant's critical infrastructure, warning that damage could have resulted in long-term consequences.

It emphasized that the Ukrainian drone strike on the dry storage facility for spent nuclear fuel at the plant constitutes an extremely serious incident.

Russian forces have controlled the Zaporizhzhia plant, the largest in Europe with six reactors, since the weeks following the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022.
