Adnoc announced the launch of a global platform for marketing and trading liquefied natural gas (LNG) based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market. This platform integrates the marketing operations of Adnoc Gas and XRG.

The initiative aims to increase operational flexibility and shipping options while supporting the expansion of Adnoc’s LNG business portfolio. This includes the Ruwais LNG project and the international growth of XRG’s gas and infrastructure activities, enabling customers worldwide to access larger LNG supplies.

The integrated platform will strengthen the ability of both Adnoc and XRG to manage their expanding and diverse LNG business portfolios. This development builds on Adnoc’s five-decade track record as a reliable supplier of this vital resource.

By 2035, the platform targets marketing 47 million tons of LNG annually, positioning itself among the leading global platforms in this sector. This supports Adnoc and XRG’s capacity to grow their LNG portfolios and reinforces Abu Dhabi’s status as a global hub for energy product trading and commerce.

Rashid Khalfan Al Mazrouei has been appointed as the Head of LNG Marketing and Supply Development. He will oversee the marketing of the LNG portfolios for both XRG and Adnoc Gas, as well as marketing operations and securing LNG supply sources. His role will be based at the Abu Dhabi Global Market, working closely with Adnoc Trading to unify marketing operations within the new integrated platform.

The platform will also leverage XRG’s growing LNG business portfolio, supported by its supply centers and offices in Abu Dhabi and London.

Long-term LNG marketing activities will be consolidated within the new integrated platform, while Adnoc Trading will continue managing trading activities without changes to current customer engagement mechanisms.
