Ahmed Hossam "Mido" Details Health Crisis After Hospital Discharge
Former footballer Ahmed Hossam "Mido" reveals his health condition and family challenges following a mild stroke and hospital release.

Ahmed Hossam, known as "Mido," the former Egyptian football star, is undergoing a gradual recovery after suffering a mild stroke. He spoke publicly for the first time about his health situation following his release from a Cairo hospital.
On Tuesday evening, June 23, Egyptian media figure Tamer Amin announced that Mido had left the hospital after his health improved. He will remain under close medical supervision at home for 48 hours to ensure his condition remains stable. Amin shared this update during his program "Akher El Nahar" aired on the "El Nahar" channel.
Amin explained that Mido insisted on returning home once his condition stabilized and he was discharged from intensive care. The athlete had faced difficult family circumstances in recent days, as his son was involved in a traffic accident that led to legal proceedings.
According to Amin, the court upheld the sentence against Mido’s son after an appeal was rejected, resulting in his son’s imprisonment for a term between seven and eight months related to the incident. Amin described the shock from this verdict as extremely severe.
He added that Mido concealed his deep sorrow throughout this period, which directly affected his health and caused the mild stroke that required urgent hospitalization. After his condition stabilized, Mido was discharged to continue treatment at home.
In a surprise phone interview with Captain Ahmed Shobier on the program "Hena El Mundial" on "El Nahar" channel, Mido reassured his fans about his stable health and shared details about the stroke he experienced.
Mido said the symptoms began with severe shortness of breath, chest pain, and a rapid heartbeat following recent court rulings. This situation necessitated his urgent hospital admission. His blood pressure readings reached high levels of 190/100.
He added that medical tests and scans conducted in the hospital confirmed he had suffered a "mild stroke," which required an intensive treatment protocol. Mido affirmed that he is currently recovering under medical supervision at home and that his condition is steadily improving thanks to God and the support of his well-wishers.
During the interview, Mido also addressed the issue involving his son Hussein, who was involved in a collision case several months ago. He stated, "From the beginning of the crisis, I remained strong with firm faith in God, knowing this is a test."
He continued, "I stayed strong to send a message to my children that despite any difficult circumstances, one must stand firm and continue working. Yesterday was the appeal session, and I had great hope that the sentence would be reduced, but in the end, I am content with the rulings and satisfied with God’s judgment."
Mido concluded by saying, "I say this is a lesson for my son and for all of us, and God willing, Hussein will emerge from this crisis stronger and better."
