Al Hilal Plans €170m Offer to Advance Marcus Rashford Transfer Talks

Negotiations involving Marcus Rashford are reportedly being expedited by Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal, aiming to secure the England winger, who remains focused on a transfer to Barcelona this summer.

Barcelona’s previous option to acquire Rashford for €30 million expired after the forward contributed 14 goals and 14 assists during his loan spell last season. The Spanish club has since signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for £70 million and declined to meet what Manchester United and others consider a reasonable price for Rashford.

While Barcelona sought another loan arrangement, Manchester United demanded a permanent transfer. Meanwhile, other clubs have expressed interest in Rashford, but the 28-year-old is intent on joining Barcelona and has been encouraged by developments involving Al Hilal.

Al Hilal previously pursued Barcelona player Raphinha in a €100 million deal two years ago and has now identified him as a key target this summer, according to Brazilian outlet GE Globo.

Raphinha acknowledged in an October 2025 ESPN interview that a proposal from Saudi Arabia would significantly improve his personal and family life. The 29-year-old is reportedly being offered €170 million over two years by Al Hilal, which would quadruple his current salary at Barcelona.

Following contact from Al Hilal, Raphinha informed the club he would not discuss his future until after the World Cup, emphasizing his commitment to Brazil during the tournament. This stance suggests he remains open to negotiations with the Saudi club once the competition concludes.

Currently, Rashford is expected to return to Manchester United after the World Cup, but the club intends to sell him. On Monday, David Ornstein revealed a secret £40 million release clause in Rashford’s contract that can be activated by any club except Liverpool or Manchester City.

Manchester United is actively pursuing West Ham’s winger Crysencio Summerville, valued at £50 million, which increases the urgency to finalize Rashford’s departure. Reports, including a recent update from The Sun, have indicated that acquiring a new winger like Summerville depends on Rashford’s exit.

With Raphinha once again linked to Al Hilal, there remains a possibility that Rashford’s transfer to Barcelona could still materialize.
