Al-Ittihad Decides Against Renewing Brazilian Fabinho's Contract for Upcoming Season
Al-Ittihad club has chosen not to renew contracts for Brazilian players Fabinho, Awad Al-Nashri, and Abdulaziz Al-Bishi ahead of the new season.

Al-Ittihad club in Saudi Arabia has resolved not to extend the contracts of three Brazilian players: Fabinho, Awad Al-Nashri, and Abdulaziz Al-Bishi. This decision is part of the club's preparations for the next season and the restructuring of the team roster.
Despite suffering a heavy 5-1 defeat against Al-Qadsiah at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah during the 34th and final round of the Saudi Professional League, Al-Ittihad secured its place in the elite Asian Champions League playoff.
The Saudi sports newspaper Al-Riyadiyah reported that Al-Ittihad's management is currently reviewing several technical and administrative files concerning the team's future. The club is inclined to reorganize some team members and strengthen the coaching staff's needs during the upcoming summer transfer window, aiming to return the team to strong competition in the new season.
Fabinho, the Brazilian player who joined Al-Ittihad at the end of July 2023, contributed to the club winning the Saudi League titles in 2024 and 2025, as well as the King’s Cup in 2025. His contract is valid until June 30, 2026. Similarly, Awad Al-Nashri and Abdulaziz Al-Bishi have contracts extending to the same date.
Earlier media reports indicated an internal recommendation not to renew contracts with Al-Nashri and Al-Bishi. This stance has now expanded to include Fabinho as the contracts of all three players approach their expiration dates.
