Arsenal Fan Dies in Uganda After Clash with Manchester United Supporter
An Arsenal fan was fatally attacked during Premier League celebrations in Kampala, prompting a police manhunt for a Manchester United supporter.
Authorities in Kampala, Uganda, have initiated a manhunt following the death of an Arsenal supporter during celebrations of the club’s Premier League title win.
The victim, a 34-year-old motorcycle taxi driver known only as Denis, reportedly died after an altercation with a man identified as Musiramu, who is said to support Manchester United. The incident occurred around 6:30 pm on Sunday, coinciding with Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, which secured the club’s first top-flight league title in 22 years.
Kampala police spokeswoman Rachel Kawala stated that the dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the suspect allegedly struck Denis on the head, causing him to collapse and die instantly. Efforts to locate and apprehend Musiramu are ongoing.

Arsenal enjoys a substantial fan base in Uganda, where Premier League matches attract large crowds at viewing centers. However, football rivalries have previously been linked to violent episodes in the country.
Local publication Nile Post highlighted concerns about violent clashes related to football allegiances, especially in urban areas where supporters gather to watch games.
In a separate development, Thomas Partey, a former Arsenal midfielder now playing for Villarreal in Spain, has been named in Ghana’s 28-man preliminary squad for the upcoming World Cup in the United States. Partey could potentially face England in Boston on June 23.
Partey, aged 32, faces multiple charges, including five counts of rape and one of sexual assault, with two additional rape charges added earlier this year. He pleaded not guilty during court proceedings and is scheduled to stand trial in 2027.
