Three signings—Ferran Torres, Bruno Guimaraes, and an unnamed central defender—are now reportedly part of Mikel Arteta’s immediate transfer agenda this summer, according to The Athletic and Football London.

Vinicius Jr Strategy Extended to Torres

Arsenal have initiated contact with Barcelona over Spain international Ferran Torres, who is set to become a free agent in June next year, Estadio Deportivo reports. The club’s technical director Andrea Berta has reportedly monitored Torres’ contractual situation for several months ahead of the approach. This mirrors Arsenal’s reported interest in Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, whose contract negotiations remain unresolved and whose potential move hinges on whether Real Madrid meets his wage demands.

Summer Transfer Activity So Far

The Gunners’ completed business this window includes Piero Hincapie’s permanent signing for £34.5 million, third-choice goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer, and Christos Tzolis—acquired for £34 million as a replacement for Leandro Trossard. These moves preceded Saturday evening’s pre-season friendly against Girona, during which behind-the-scenes transfer activity drew significant fan attention.

Midfield and Defensive Targets Confirmed

In addition to Torres, The Athletic states that Bruno Guimaraes is the identified midfield target, following what it describes as an alleged agreement between Arsenal and Newcastle. A central defender is also said to be under active consideration, specifically to provide cover for William Saliba, who is currently injured.

Arteta’s Forward-Line Priorities

Vinicius Jr remains at the top of Arteta’s forward-line priority list, per The Athletic’s Saturday report. Personal terms between the Brazilian attacker and Arsenal are expected to be finalized if he opts against renewing with Real Madrid and the club fails to satisfy his salary expectations.
