Danilo, who shared the locker room with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and Juventus, has portrayed the football legend as a relatable individual rather than an otherworldly figure. He emphasized Ronaldo's normalcy away from the spotlight despite his extraordinary achievements.

In an interview with The Athletic, Danilo stated, "People think Cristiano is like an extraterrestrial, but he was a normal guy who would laugh and have a good time with his family. But of course, Cristiano lives for football, in almost everything that he does, to be better every day."

While highlighting Ronaldo’s human side, Danilo acknowledged the veteran’s unwavering dedication that has sustained his elite performance for more than twenty years. He described how Ronaldo’s professionalism elevates the standards of those around him.

"I’d played with him at Madrid. In Turin, he was more experienced but still scoring a lot of goals, still professional all the time. He pushed you, made you perform at your best in training, in games," Danilo added.

Comparing Ronaldo and Ancelotti's Humility

Danilo also drew attention to similarities between Ronaldo and Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, noting their shared humility despite their fame and success. Both maintain a grounded demeanor in their daily interactions.

"Ancelotti is like Cristiano. One of the most famous people in football, yet he lives the days with us like a normal person," Danilo remarked. "He’s humble, and this is one of the most important abilities of champions. He won a lot, but he works as if he has won nothing."

Ronaldo’s Quest for a Sixth World Cup

At 41 years old, Ronaldo is preparing to participate in his sixth World Cup, aiming to secure the trophy for the first time in his career. Achieving this milestone would place him among the first three footballers to compete in six World Cup tournaments, alongside Lionel Messi and Guillermo Ochoa.

Portugal is set to compete in Group K, beginning their campaign against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on June 17. Subsequent matches include fixtures against Uzbekistan on June 23 and Colombia on June 27.
