The Spanish club opened its preseason preparations with two friendlies — against Alcorcón and Leganés. Madrid secured a 4–1 victory over Leganés in its most recent outing, maintaining positive results ahead of the new season.
In an official statement posted on its website, Real Madrid confirmed it will face German side Schalke 04 on Sunday, 16 August, at Veltins-Arena. The match is part of celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the stadium’s inauguration.
