Mbappe hits 100 Real Madrid goals in El Clasico win

A century of goals was marked by Kylian Mbappe during Real Madrid’s 2-1 triumph against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. The French forward netted both strikes in the match, reaching the 100-goal milestone for Los Blancos in only his 116th appearance for the club.

Breakdown of the historic scoring record

The statistical composition of Mbappe’s 100 goals reveals a diverse distribution across competitions. He has recorded 67 goals in La Liga and 25 in the Champions League. Additional tallies include four in the Copa del Rey, two in the Club World Cup, one in the UEFA Super Cup, and one in the Spanish Super Cup.

Mbappe initiated the scoring with a deflected thigh effort before securing the win by converting Eduardo Camavinga’s late assist. This performance underscores his continued role as the primary offensive anchor for the squad.

Player prioritizes collective success

Despite achieving this personal benchmark in record time, Mbappe directed post-match commentary toward the team’s overall achievement. "I'm very happy, everyone knows I like to score goals and help the team with that," he stated. He clarified that the individual milestone was secondary to the result.

"But I think today this is just a detail, because the most important thing is the team’s victory and how we win as a group," Mbappe added. He noted that the win would bolster confidence within the squad and predicted further scoring opportunities ahead.

Emphasis on unity for title contention

Reflecting on the requirements of playing for Real Madrid, the striker urged teammates to uphold high standards. "We knew we had to play like men, but also as a team," he emphasized. Mbappe stressed that achieving objectives this season requires collective effort rather than individual brilliance.

"If we want to achieve things this year, we have to do them as a group... when you see the players we have here, anyone who says there isn't quality is a liar," he said. He highlighted that maintaining their position in the title race remains crucial for the club.

Mbappe, who has secured two Pichichi Trophies and a Golden Boot since joining Madrid, has already contributed 14 goals across all competitions this season. Attention now shifts to next Sunday’s away fixture against Santander.
