The Lebanese army announced the death of a soldier following an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon.

Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, maintained his stance on the Negrira case, refusing to withdraw his previous remarks.

Earlier, Pérez ignited a major controversy with his strong comments linking the Negrira case to the loss of league titles from Real Madrid’s trophy cabinet.

He stated, "I have won seven La Liga titles, and it could have been 14, but they were stolen from me," directly accusing Spanish referees of steering the league in favor of their rival.

Pérez also confirmed that the club is preparing a report exceeding 500 pages detailing alleged refereeing bias, which will be submitted to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) with the aim of sanctioning Barcelona.

Despite Pérez’s statements, the regional inspection unit in Catalonia under the Spanish tax authority issued a report concluding that payments made by Barcelona to José María Enriquez Negrira, vice president of the referees' technical committee, were not bribes to referees nor intended to influence match results.

During the launch of his campaign for the Real Madrid presidency on Wednesday evening, Florentino said, "The world cannot understand how a club can pay the deputy head of referees for 20 years."

He added, "We will provide UEFA with the information we have gathered over these years."

He continued, "The Negrira case is the biggest stain in the history of football. How can a club pay referees and still escape punishment?"

He concluded, "I want to be clear and unambiguous about the most serious scandal in the history of football and sports. I will not stop as long as the Negrira case tarnishes the reputation of Spanish football."
